TestTrick is a skills assessment and pre-employment testing platform that helps companies evaluate candidates through coding challenges, skill-based assessments, and secure online testing.
My Approach
As a Senior Product Designer, I was responsible for improving the core UX and visual experience of TestTrick across both the user and admin sides. My focus was to simplify assessment and hiring workflows, improve usability, and create a more consistent and conversion-focused product experience.
Challenges & Solutions
Simplifying Complex Recruitment Workflows
TestTrick includes assessments, coding challenges, job creation, candidate management, and other recruitment features. The challenge was to simplify these workflows and make them easy to understand for different types of users.
Improving the User Experience Across the Platform
The existing product had usability and consistency issues that made some workflows more complex than necessary. The challenge was to restructure the experience and create clearer paths for users to complete their key tasks.
Improving the Existing UI & Layout
The platform had an outdated interface with inconsistent layouts and unclear information hierarchy. The challenge was to reorganize the content, improve the visual hierarchy, and create a more intuitive and modern interface.
Creating a Consistent Product Foundation
As the platform continued to grow, a consistent design system was needed to improve the experience and support faster product development.
My Solution:
Conducted user research and competitor analysis in collaboration with the co-founder to identify usability issues and opportunities to improve the recruitment experience.
Redesigned assessment and job creation workflows to simplify the hiring process and improve product adoption.
Designed a modern visual interface and reorganized the layout and information hierarchy to create a cleaner and more intuitive user experience.
Improved UX copy to make the platform clearer, more intuitive, and conversion-focused.
Established TestTrick's first design system to improve consistency and enable faster feature development.
The Final Product
The redesigned TestTrick platform delivered a clearer, more consistent, and user-friendly experience for companies managing their hiring and assessment workflows.
